Immunization Requirements for rising 7th graders

Sun, 07/06/2014 - 10:53am

The State Department of Health and Mental Hygiene issued a list of new immunization requirements last fall. In addition to the current requirements, all students must have the following immunizations documented by a physicians office:

  • 1 dose of Tdap vaccine will be required for student entry into 7th grade
  • 1 dose of Meningococcal vaccine will be required for student entry into 7th grade

If your student requires additional immunizations, contact your health care provider as soon as possible to make an appointment. Please provide the school with an updated copy of your child’s immunization record, (complete with the provider’s signature) as soon as you are able. Failure to provide proof of updated immunizations could result in your student being excluded from school.

Please do not delay in scheduling appointments for your student or in sending in updated vaccination documents. All student files are currently being reviewed to ensure we are able to include your 6th grader when the school year begins next fall.
