PTA NEWS

PTA Meeting January 19, 7pm - Media Center

The PTA “Snow Ball” Winter Dance – Fri., January 29 from 7:30-9:30pm

The Winter Dance is here!  Is your 6th, 7th, or 8th grader going stir crazy?  Blast away those winter blahs by attending the “Snow Ball” on Friday, January 29 from 7:30-9:30pm at Patapsco Middle School.  There will be a DJ and dancing in the gym,  and concessions (pizza, soda, water, candy, snow cones) for sale in the cafeteria.  Plus, tell your kids not to miss the super cool Frozen Photo Opp happening in the hallway, with props to help them get their selfie on!

Ticket Sales:  Tickets are $3.00 (cash or check made out to PMS PTA) and will be on sale during all lunch periods on the Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday, before the dance (Jan. 27-29).   Students will also need a signed parent permission slip in order to purchase a ticket.  The permission slip is located on the PTA’s website http://patapscopta.weebly.com/ under the “Forms” tab.  A hard copy of the permission slip will go home with students the week before the dance or may be picked up at the school’s front office.

Volunteers Needed:  Please volunteer for as much or as little time as you’re able.  You can sign up through Signup Genius at http://www.signupgenius.com/go/10c0f45abaf29a46-come .  We need help to sell tickets during lunch hours, decorate, work with concessions, clean up, and chaperone throughout the building during the event.  [You need to create a Signup Genius account to volunteer through the link.  This is an easy process, or if you do not want to create an account please contact Caroline Bodziak.]

This is going to be GREAT!  Please contact Caroline Bodziak at cbodziak@aol.com or 443-812-5896 with any questions.

Spring Fling

After the Snow Ball, our next fun social is the Spring Fling scheduled for the evening of April 29.  The Spring Fling combines a cafeteria dance with an open gym and BINGO in the media center with amazing prizes.  We are recruiting 4 people to work together to organize this event – we have two so far.  Want to learn more?  Contact Caroline Bodziak at cbodziak@aol.com.

Hebron High School music directors and student performers will be on hand to answer questions about the programs and classes offered.  We especially recommend this event to 8th grade families as they work on their high school course selections, although younger students are welcome.  A brief Boosters' meeting will follow.  We hope to see you there!

Patapsco Middle School Jazz Ensemble

Patapsco Middle School Jazz Ensemble will be traveling to Towson University on January 15th,  to participate in the Towson Jazz Festival.  Three middle schools from Howard County will be attending this Festival.
