On January 4th our annual school-wide spelling bee began with 31 students who won their classroom bees. We have many excellent spellers, so the school-wide competition was fierce. The bee began with easy words like fun and red. The words quickly became more difficult like jacquerie and tagine.
Our 2019 school champion is Harshitha Tumarada. Our runner-up is Rishi Rajadhyaksha. Harshitha will go on to represent our school at the Howard County Library Spelling Bee: Friday, March 8, 2019, at River Hill High School 7:00 PM
Please come to cheer Harshitha on or watch the bee from home on the Howard County Government channel.
We are proud of all our participants. Special thanks go out to Principal Babe for being the pronouncer, and to Mrs. Shaw and Mr. Azat for being our judges.
