11/6: Schools close 3 hours early. Professional Workday

11/16 through 11/20: American Education Week

Dear Patapsco Middle School Community,

I sincerely hope you and your family are well. I want to use this newsletter as a reminder for your student and for you to check canvas to view academic progress. We have a few weeks left in quarter 1 and this is a perfect time to see how your student is doing in each class. I also encourage all students to attend the synchronous support sessions where they are able to get additional support and ask questions. These are perfect opportunities to receive additional help in each class.

I also want to take this opportunity to thank our PTA for hosting our Cyber Safety Presentation that was last Wednesday. It was great to hear from Mr. Joe Dugan from the Maryland State Police ICAC Task Force. The presentation was informative and we appreciate our PTA for hosting this event for our community.

I wish everyone a safe and relaxing weekend.

Mike Babe

Principal

Additional Synchronous Support Periods

Students have an opportunity to receive additional support twice a week for each of their 4 classes. This is a great time for students to ask questions and/or get assistance with synchronous and/or asynchronous work. Please encourage your students to take advantage of this opportunity for small group support from their teacher. The code is the same code they would use for that class period. These codes and times can be found on their teachers canvas page.

Period 1 Support 8:30-8:50 Monday and Thursday

Period 2 Support 8:30-8:50 Tuesday and Friday

Period 3 Support 2:55-3:15 Monday and Thursday

Period 4 Support 2:55-3:15 Tuesday and Friday

Mathematics Content Support

Exciting news! New resources have been added to the HCPSS Family Math Support Center for grades K-12. Here, you will find links and videos to support your child during their current math course as well as direct access to the “getting ready” courses that combine topics from your child's previous course and preview topics in their upcoming new course. We hope this is helpful and appreciate your support.
