PM KNIGHT 11-13-15

From the Principal’s Desk…

As you know, first quarter report cards were sent home on Monday. If you haven’t seen one, you might want to dump out the back pack and a take a look. If your son or daughter seems to be having trouble in one of his or her classes, now is the time to schedule a parent conference. Scheduling student conferences is now handled through Synergy. Log on to HCPSS Connect and follow the instructions for setting a time to meet with the teachers you would like to see. The window for scheduling these conferences will close on November 18th.

American Education Week is November 16-20 and you are welcome to come and visit your student’s classes to see how things are going here at Patapsco. When you arrive, we ask that you are prepared to show your ID in order to sign in and that you wear the very attractive visitor’s pass provided while in the building. Please be sure to bring a copy of your student schedule (available on Canvas). We know many of you just visited during our Back to School Days, but you’re always welcome to come again! We are also very excited to sponsor our Annual Turkey Trot on November 19. The school-wide event involves a run through our neighboring community and canned food drive. We welcome parent participants for this fun run.

During Thanksgiving Week, we will hold our first Patapsco Faire on Tuesday, November 22.  During this school-wide celebration of good citizenship, we run a modified schedule that impacts our lunch shifts. On this particular early dismissal day, only those students who will be eating a school provided lunch will be invited to the cafeteria for lunch. Our experience has been that, on early dismissal days, the lunch period occurs very early and most students wait until they get home to eat because they simply are not hungry. If your son or daughter has particular dietary needs that must be met during school hours, and they will not be eating a school provided meal, please contact the Health Room (410-313-2850) or your son or daughter's school counselor

You may not hear from us again before the holiday break, so happy Thanksgiving!

May your turkey be moist and your blessings bountiful,

Cindy Dillon, Principal
