Dear Patapsco families:

It has been such an amazing week welcoming our students from group E back to the building. It has been a long time seeing our buses pull up to the building and Monday morning was such a good sight to see. Our dedicated and wonderful staff are truly remarkable and I thank them for continuing to welcome students and to make sure each student is seen and heard whether they are in-person or virtual.

This past week we had two wonderful events hosted by our PTA. We had a very successful fundraiser at Kelsey’s and thank you to everyone who was able to participate. In addition, there was a Mental Health parent evening where the PTA had experts in the field host. Thank you, to our PTA for all that they do to support our students, staff, and families of our #OnePatapsco commUNITY.

As we continue to implement the hybrid model in stages, we are keeping our website up to date with information. Please take some time to review information that we have available:

New Chromebook Care Webpage

Students attending school in-person should bring their fully charged HCPSS assigned Chromebook and power adapter to school on their assigned days. If your student does not currently have a Chromebook, they may pick up one from our school's Media Center on their first day of in-person instruction. HCPSS has developed a new webpage for students, Chromebook Care, which includes tips on caring for and transporting Chromebooks, as well as student mobile technology duties and obligations and additional resources.

Update:  Please read the following Update regarding the availability of Digital Tools for Chromebooks.

From the Health Room

Parents of 6thgrade students…

Reminder that all students entering 7th grade are required by the State of Maryland to have the MCV4 and Tdap vaccines prior to the first day of 7th grade. Many students may have already received these immunizations, but the Health Room may not have the updated immunization record.  Please contact your child’s doctor and email an updated copy of your child’s immunizations to Megan_Blouse@hcpss.org.

To ensure students are healthy enough to attend in-person instruction, parents/guardians are to perform a symptom check every day before the student leaves home. A student having any of the following symptoms should not be sent to school and may continue to access their classrooms virtually if they are well enough to do so: Maryland Department of Health Response to COVID 19 Positive Cases or COVID 19 Like Illness https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/symptoms-testing/symptoms.html#cdc-chat-bot-open
