Back to School KNight

When:  September 8, 2022 at 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM

We are excited to welcome each and every family to the 2022 Back to School Knight at Patapsco Middle School. Our doors will open at 5:45 PM and the event will end at 8:00 PM. We would like all families to be at Homeroom by 6:15 PM.

What You Can Expect:  Back to School Knight will allow you to visit your child’s classrooms and to meet the professionals who teach them. You will start in homeroom as your student does each day to hear important information from the Administration and PTA.  You will then have the opportunity to travel around the building to each of your child’s classes and get to know your child’s teachers better. Each class visit is only eight minutes, which is a great way for the teacher to talk to all parents at once. That said, if you’d like to have an individual conversation with your child’s teacher, feel free to email the teacher to arrange a time for a parent/teacher conference.

You will also have the opportunity to sign up for our PTA which does so much for our school. We appreciate the membership and donations as it directly supports the students and staff at Patapsco Middle School. Please consider joining as we could not do a lot of the exciting initiatives for our kids without our PTA!

We know you are wondering if you should bring your student with you.  Space is at a premium. Imagine 685 students, plus parents trying to move from class to class. If you are able, we ask that you come to Back to School Knight without your child as space will be limited. We have plenty of staff to help guide you where to go as well as maps.

Feeding Your Crew:  Don't worry about dinner.  Before heading over to Back to School Knight, support our school by ordering dinner from Vocelli's.  A percentage of all sales will be donated to Patapsco Middle School.  So, you can leave the kids at home with a pizza and come on over! Please enjoy Vocelli’s from home and do not worry about cooking dinner!! More details on our flyer!

Getting Here:  Parking on school property will be limited to school staff and drivers with disabilities.  All other visitors are asked to ride a shuttle from two satellite locations:  Hollifield Station Elementary (8701 Stonehouse Drive) and Crossroads Church of the Nazarene  (2750 Rogers Avenue). Shuttles will begin running at 5:30 PM, and will provide return service at the conclusion of the evening.

Also, we ask that you support our efforts to reduce the impact of our event on the surrounding neighborhood by following these parking procedures:  do not park on the road or in our neighbor’s driveways. This includes the grass lot across from the school.  Thank you!

Additional Parent Seminar:

5:45- 6:15 PM in media center: Come learn more about the new Black Student Achievement Program and meet Mr. Sean Jones, the Program Liaison before Back-to-School Knight. We will meet in the Media Center at 5:45 PM. He looks forward to meeting you all and working with you and your children this school year.
